PCBL begins trial carbon black production at Chennai expansion

PCBL Chemical Limited has begun trial production for the first phase of a brownfield expansion at its carbon black plant in Chennai, India, according to Projects Today. The first phase will add 30,000 tons of capacity in the next few weeks. A second phase will add another 60,000 tons of carbon black capacity along with 12 MW of power, with completion expected by the end of the current financial year, or Q1 2026. PCBL Chemical Limited plans to exceed one million tons of carbon black capacity by FY28, up from 770,000 tons as of the end of 2024.
