Orion S.A. (Houston, TX) has opened a Battery Innovation Center in Cologne, Germany. The center will focus on conductive materials for lithium-ion battery applications. In addition to the center, Orion announced the formation of a new specialized organization for its battery business. Orion is the only producer of acetylene black conductive additives in Europe and is in the process of building a new AB plant in the United States.
