Huber Engineered Materials, a division of J.M. Huber Corporation, announced earlier this month that the expansion of its precipitated silica plant in Jhagadia, India is on schedule and set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The project will double the company’s precipitated silica production capacity to 35,000 metric tons in India, and the new quantities will go into silica and silicates for the oral care, food and industrial markets. Huber Engineered Materials has a global manufacturing footprint of multiple production sites in North America, Europe and Asia.
