The Carbon Black World conference site has an exclusive interview with Lorenzo Zullo of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturer’s Association (ETRMA). The conference is coming up next month in Rome. Notch will present a paper at the conference entitled Current Conditions & Global Outlook for Carbon Black.

From the interview: IntertechPira: Your presentation will focus on future chemical legislation that could potentially impact carbon black use in rubber. In your opinion, what are the most significant upcoming legislative changes that should be of concern to the carbon black industry?

Mr. Zullo: Two of the most European legislative changes that should be of concern to the carbon black industry and downstream users are the introduction of new chemical restrictions under REACH (Regulation 1907/2006, Annex XVII) and the expected future legislative development in the area of nanomaterials.
