ERJ reports that Sumitomo Rubber Industries is introducing a new racing tire that incorporates recycled carbon black produced by Mitsubishi Chemical. The recycled carbon black is produced under a new collaborative agreement between Sumitomo and Mitsubishi that uses rubber scrap from Sumitomo's tire production along with ELT as the feedstock. Mitsubishi recycles the rubber scrap into a tar that is used to produce carbon black. The racing tires will be used in round 4 of the 2025 Autobacs Super GT taking place August 2-3 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
