Kumho Tire told to relocate polluting Nanjing tire factory

GASGOO.com reports from China’s Economic Observer News that Kumho Tire has been notified by the Nanjing Environmental Protection Bureau to move its Gaoxin plant, located within the city, to a new site. Kumho is one of 173 companies to receive relocation instructions. The bureau identifies the Kumho facility as a major source of pollution. The plant has been ordered to stop production. A bureau representative said that Kumho Tires will set up a new plant outside of the city. Kumho representatives state that the manufacturer is complying  with government requests and is currently researching ways to cap its emissions.
