Birla Carbon to build two new carbon black plants in India and Thailand

Birla Carbon today announced the construction of two new greenfield carbon black plants located in Niadupet, Andhra Pradesh, India and Rayong, Thailand. Each facility will have 120 KTPY of capacity at start-up in 2025, with plans to expand to 240 KTPY in the future. According to Birla Carbon, the two new greenfield sites were chosen based on their locations, demand dynamics in the region, and specific customer needs.


Previously announced brownfield expansion plans in Hungary, as well as, the post treatment facility expanding specialty capacity at Patalganga, India, are progressing on plan, according to the company.
